Writing Lectures
Task 1 + Task 2 with AI feedback
Lecture 1: Task Achievement / Response
Five essay types, seven Task 1 chart types, three letter registers — the single biggest reason strong writers cap at Band 6.5 is misreading the task before writing a word.
Lecture 2: Coherence & Cohesion
Coherence is the invisible architecture of an argument — the logic a reader can feel. Cohesion is the visible stitching that holds sentences together. One cannot score highly without the other.
Lecture 3: Lexical Resource
Band 8+ lexis is judged on natural collocation, topic-appropriate precision, and controlled paraphrase — not on inserting rare vocabulary. Misused sophisticated words cost more than plain, accurate ones.
Lecture 4: Grammatical Range & Accuracy
Band 8+ is not "no errors" — it is controlled variety. A response built only from simple sentences is capped regardless of accuracy; the examiner is scoring range as much as correctness.
